There’s No Place Like Goal!

Dorothy: Oh, but anyway, Toto, we’re home. Home! And this is my room, and you’re all here. And I’m not gonna leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all, and – oh, Auntie Em – there’s no place like home!

Dorothy in Wizard of Oz should’ve  said there’s no place like goal!

The feeling you get when you’ve reached your goal really feels like a place you can call your own. Why? Because you’ve done the work and reached your ‘home.’

But setting goals and meeting them is not as simple as clicking your red heels together.

So here is a pair of ruby red rules to wear as you walk towards your goal.

1. Babies know best: babies are stars in goal-setting and ‘goal-meeting.’ When they’re learning to walk, they fall tons of times. But they get up and try again. And so should you. When you set a goal and you fall, get up and walk again. Just make sure you have supportive ‘parents’ around you even if the ‘parent’ is the voice in your head.

2. Do your best and Allah will do the rest. You are just in charge of getting the work done. Make sure you take your meds on time. Exercise and eat right and just keep at it. The results are ultimately in Allah’s hand.

So when you get great results, thank Allah for it. And when you don’t, pray to Allah to help you reach your destination on the yellow brick road :)
